Waldemar Von Zedtwitz Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases), Professor of Epidemiology (Microbial Diseases), and of Microbial Pathogenesis at the Yale University School of Medicine, where he also serves as Section Chief for Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Fikrig is most well- known for the development of the first vaccine against Lyme disease.

Dr. Fikrig’s lab investigates vector- borne diseases such as Lyme disease, human granulocytic ehrlichiosis, and West Nile virus.

From 2008- 2020 Dr. Fikrig was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) investigator at Yale.
